Basic but essential business supplies
With technology taking over the business arena as well as the home, it’s easy to forget the non-ground-breaking supplies in businesses that don’t require a PHD to operate. The following goods are often neglected, and nobody notices when supplies are running low, especially if no one employee is in charge of ordering them. Here are a few specific examples of these types of items, and why they’re important businesses.
- Many companies, especially larger ones, will have an outsourced cleaning company, but for those that don’t and even for emergencies in the case of those that do, cleaning supplies are one of these essentials. Diseases spread easily, especially during periods of general illness where the same bug does the round, and having these supplies should make sure that your employees aren’t side-lined by ill health.
- Another area of business that is often overlooked is the postal department, i.e. packagingsupplies. Obviously, companies which operate in the retail sector with e-commerce arms should be on top of this, but many other firms that use these supplies more often than they think will be chronically short of the proper goods.
- Often considered some of the most expensive office equipment there is, printer ink and toner is undoubtedly costly, but in the same vein vital in its own way. The emergence of computers has meant that getting things in physical form is less important, but when it comes to some documents printers and therefore ink is needed.
- Again, with the omnipotence of computers in the modern workplace, little things like keyboards and mice are vital to the simple every day running of many companies. Despite this, few firms will actually keep spares, and if one of these items breaks, it could leave an employee left with nothing to do for the amount of time it takes you to source another one.
